Using the Undo and Redo buttons.

  • Open a workbook called Undo and Redo.  You will see a workbook containing the following data.


  • Click on cell F2 and then delete the cell contents by pressing the Del key.

  • Click on cell F3 and then delete the cell contents by pressing the Del key.

  • Click on cell F4 and then delete the cell contents by pressing the Del key.

  • Your worksheet will now look like this.


  • Click the Undo button within the Excel toolbar.


  • You will see that the last deletion is ‘undone’.  Click on the Undo button again.  As you can see the undo feature remembers more than just the last item that you changed.  Click on the Undo button one more time and see what happens.  You should see that your worksheet looks like this.


  • Click on the Redo button within the Excel toolbar.


  • You will see the following as the deletion has been re-applied.


  • Try clicking on the Redo button a few more times and see what happens.

  • Save any changes you have made and then press Ctrl+F4 to close the workbook while leaving the Excel program running.
