ECDL Essentials - UK Only

Previously known as 'BCS Level 1 Certificate for IT Users'

ECDL Essentials is designed to give an initial overview of computer use for the beginner or candidate who wishes to gain a qualification. 

The qualification is made up of 3 units which have a direct mapping to the European Computer Driving Licence for the following modules. 

• Concepts of Information Technology - ECDL Module 1 
• Using the Computer and Managing Files - ECDL Module 2 
• Information and Communication ECDL - Module 7

ECDL Extra - UK Only

Previously known as 'BCS Level 2 Certificate for IT Users'

ECDL Extra is designed to give a more in depth knowledge and understanding of computer use for candidates wishing to gain a qualification.

The qualification is made up of 5 units.

• Word Processing - ECDL Module 3 
• Spreadsheets - ECDL Module 4 
• Database - ECDL Module 5 
• Presentation - ECDL Module 6 
• E. Using IT 

Unit E - Using IT requires the candidate to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a series of theoretical elements such as legal issues associated with computing, health and safety and good practice. Additionally the candidate will be required to demonstrate their understanding of integration between computer applications and the relevance of each to everyday tasks. 

ECDL Advanced Version 2.0

ECDL Advanced is designed to give a more advanced knowledge and understanding for candidates wishing to gain a qualification.

The advanced ECDL qualification is made up of 4 units.

• Word Processing - ECDL Module 3 
• Spreadsheets - ECDL Module 4 
• Database - ECDL Module 5 
• Presentation - ECDL Module 6
